If it opens early in 2025 hopefully there will be a near hurricane one day in the fall to clear it out. In 2019 the day before Dorian every ride was a walk on.
tbh disney deserves it because they could and should be expanding at the rate universal is but they won’t for any myriad reasons and they give people half baked and half assed upgrades in between bigger openings
I’m beyond happy that Disneyland got Runaway Railway, but some other new rides and upgrades would be great. As much as I hate to admit it, I’m slowly starting to get bored of the parks
i mean, i guess? since 2012 disney has; - expanded fantasy land & introduced seven dwarfs mine train - refurbed test track (opinions on new vs old aside) - built the Pandora expansion with (2) attractions, 1 of them being a premier ticket item - completely revamped disney springs - added a ton of new hotel offerings for DVC customers as well as upgraded poor people hotel rooms - expanded hollywood studios to include TWO new lands, one of them being fuckin galaxies edge - planned and are in the process of overhauling an entire park (epcot) - overlay Norway and introduced the Frozen ride - introduced Remy, Tron, Guardians, and Mickey & Minnie Railway all within the same like, 2 years - built and introduced an entire new method of transportation to offer resort guests - currently renovating the arguably largest attraction in MK to a new theme/design i am certain there are things i am forgetting you can have the attitude that we have with our sports teams where, you should always be spending and upgrading, and i certainly understand it, but the universal dorks that are out in full force acting like this is some coup over disney is just immensely silly lol congrats to universal for making a large upgrade that isnt harry potter related??
The dark universe monsters ride is using a similar ride system to forbidden journey, so I expect it to be an even cooler, more advanced version of that
i don’t think this is disrupting the disney dynasty the way others are but i think disney also feels extremely comfortable with their slow development that continues to lead to long lines and construction walls that come down to reveal more homogenized and boring theme park design so thankfully universal seems interested in making it competitive disney can do all those things you listed and still be rightfully criticized for looking to be a bit more conservative with their parks and for being so slow to open their new attractions but yeah, it goes along with the narrative that disney is prioritizing the big family vacationers that come once every 3-5 years because then there really is something new and exciting by the time they come back but i’m not gonna sit here and continue to fall for the weird faux excitement and interest that they try to build up with their paid for insiders hyping the company while figment disintegrates and they underdeliver on things like the epcot reno
Agree with this 100%, but just make it the British Ministry and call it a day. If they don’t make the Department of Mysteries, but over there is some place from a really bad movie I’ll never watch again, I’m gonna be disappointed.
