my fiance is getting very excited about possibly going to paris for our honeymoon which would 100% mean a day at Disneyland Paris

    I'm less optimistic though

Seems like they are taking some inspiration from that Disney's America park in VA that never got built.

I assume this is this old Barney area back by ET?

Yeah Kidszone. It was also themed after Woody Woodpecker for a bit.

That seems really fast but Universal is way better at it than Disney.

If it is for kids I hope for a dark ride.

I was honestly hoping they would spread out the bigger DreamWorks IPs to use in other parks. A Shrek Land would have been perfect for a Toon Lagoon retheme.

Next year, Universal Orlando Resort will debut an all-new themed land inspired by DreamWorks Animations’ beloved collection of animated characters. Currently being developed in the former KidZone location of Universal Studios Florida, the new area will immerse guests of all ages in vibrant, family-friendly experiences that bring popular franchises like Shrek, Trolls and Kung Fu Panda to life in a whole new way – plus, guests can enjoy special meet-n-greets with these and other characters like Gabby from Gabby’s Dollhouse.

I get a vibe that there won't be any rides; "immersive and interactive new land" and "vibrant, family-friendly experiences" sound more thing-based and not ride-based.

Nah I think it is just going to be a basic small scale kids area and everything that was there is just going to get a DreamWorks re-theme.

    • A costume character live show
    • An interactive character meet & greet
    • A family style roller coaster
    • A playground
    • A water play area
    • A quick service dining spot

Yeah I believe the only real ride will be a rethemed woody woodpecker coaster

Maybe they won't do a traditional playground, thinking about it theme parks have been gradually closing all their kids playground areas and they aren't opening new ones. Probably liability issues.

One of the hosts of DIS Unplugged used to work the old Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground at Hollywood Studios, and he said it was an absolute nightmare with kids breaking bones almost every day.

I have a very specific memory of being a dumb kid and hurting myself in that area. Didn’t break anything, but definitely sprained my ankle lol
