I actually liked the new firework show? But I was never that into Happily Ever After and I sat through the Harmonious trash so my expectations might have been lower than others. I still in the Wishes superiority camp.

I think Harmonious and Enchantment have the same problem in that they feel really soulless and have no heart. There’s no overall story or cohesion which is really what set Illuminations & Happily Ever After apart from other shows.

Just booked our Disneyland and DCA tickets for 10/18 and 10/19 with a night at Disneyland Hotel.

First time staying on property, so we're pretty excited. We're local so never really saw the need, but we're doing one park per day and thought it'd be fun and we'd have more energy for day 2.

I’m happy Shrek is closing. I enjoyed it when it first opened, but it’s pretty dated and it’s time to go.

Wonder what’s going to replace it

Is there enough room for secret life of pets in that space?

Shrek is a great air conditioning nap after hiking through everything else.

Went to Disneyland on Monday for the first time in probably 6-7 years and CA for the first time ever. Disneyland was pretty fun. As a huge Star Wars fan Galaxy's Edge was incredible and brought a tear to my eye. The attention to detail is insane. I've heard people complain that its not OT related but I like that it felt like star wars without being too specific. Only downside was I didnt get to ride ROTR so i'll have to come back and try again. The Falcon ride was pretty fun and the food at the docking bay was surprisingly good.

CA was fun but we weren't there too long. Only ride we rode was Guardians of the Galaxy but that was a blast. The Avengers Campus seems kind of bare and empty right now.

Did you try to get into the virtual queue for ROTR and weren't able?

I'm going next week and that's my nightmare.

yup tried at 7am and then again at 12pm. I was pretty bummed but overall it didnt ruin my trip as much as I joked it would. But I could also visit Disneyland fairly regularly if I wanted. I'd imagine if you're from out of town and you dont get in its pretty annoying.

Damn that sucks. Yeah we're local too so I know I'll get on it eventually. At these prices we're not able to as often as we used to so I'll be pretty bummed, but yeah won't let it ruin the whole trip.

I've read all the blogs and everything but if anyone has any tips to getting on, feel free to share.

I button mashed Refresh on the app and was able to get Group 10, which was surprising. We also had all 8 of us in our party trying it on their apps, so our chances were high

Were you on the resort wifi or a cell tower trying to get it? I've found not using the resort WiFi much better when getting a reservation.

Every time I’ve got the passes was with cellular service (per that same tip when it first opened), but I also have great coverage at Hollywood Studios.

I rode my first coaster ever at Dollywood yesterday. Phobia definitely isn’t gone but I’m proud of myself. It was the Firechaser Express

Obvious choice is Gus the Hitchhiking Ghost, but really fun dark horse would be him as the Hatbox Ghost.

Just got back from a day at DCA, a night at the Disneyland Hotel, and a day at Disneyland. Great trip. We were able to get on pretty much every ride we wanted by 2pm at both parks and had no trouble getting in the virtual queue for Web Slingers and Rise.

Web Slingers was just okay, very hectic, kinda hard to tell what's going on, and your arms get tired. My girlfriend couldn't really figure out what she was doing wrong, she got like 5,000 points while everyone else was 150,000+. Plus it just moves you to the left from one screen to the next, there's nothing to the actual ride. Midway Mania is 1000x better.

Avenger's Campus was kinda wack in general, not much to do or see. I thought I was getting a giant chicken sandwich from the Pym's Test Kitchen, but it turned out to be a regular chicken sandwich with a tiny bun.

Rise was amazing, met and exceeded my extremely high expectations. I need to ride it a dozen more times, I felt like I only saw a fraction of all the stuff going on.

At the end of the last day we decided to upgrade to Magic Keys since they apply the price of your ticket to the price of the pass. It ended up paying for the down payment and bringing the monthly payment down to $38 for the Enchant Key.

Also, we almost got murdered on the way home, but that's another story.

Booked a three day trip to DCA/Disneyland last night, staying at the HoJo across the street for their splash pad. Pretty sure my daughter is going to be very excited.
