I'm taking Magical Express for the first time this trip and I'm weirdly excited since it's something new for me
Honestly the bus itself isn’t bad, especially since it’s free. Waiting for the bus is the worst part. If you show up off-cycle you could be waiting an hour or more. After flying all the way there and being so close the last thing I want is to spend extra time at the airport.
Hoping for the best...I might not check my baggage with Magical Express so that I can just leave and take an Uber if it takes too long
yeah agreed this is my worst complaint as well. I've gotten off the plane and been on the bus and headed to the resort within 20 mins, but we have also waited nearly 2 additional hours before. it can be especially bad if you're arriving at night. it's hard to beat a free service, but i would almost always place a value on paying the $30ish uber/lyft ride just to get me there ASAP.
that is bittersweet. but WOW! These stories are wild. We have only taken red-eyes to Orlando so we're always walking right onto the bus first thing and there's only ever been like 6 other people on the bus. These were in October/ November before the Christmas rush. Being able to bus to the hotel and not worry about our luggage was worth the price of admission alone and it always was flawless. Anything other than that sounds like a nightmare.
I read the company that runs the Magic Expresses will still be doing them, just independent of Disney so it will still be available.
Yeah Mears’ contract is expiring with Disney which is conveniently coinciding with the anticipatied high speed rail that will eventually run through MCO to Disney Springs. edit: reading that the railway is no longer a thing?? weird
Bummed to see this is leaving, hopefully going to Worlds of Fun at least... Can't help but think a new Intamin Ultra Surf will replace it given the history of Intamin rides in that spot, and the lack of space.
I wouldn’t mind a movie, but glad it won’t be Scar Jo. Give me a Rockin’ Rollercoaster movie that’s just the ride intro on loop for 2 hours.
i've been saying for a while that i think that is the next big ride to get a re-model, but it probably wont be for a while. give me a Big Hero 6 coaster. edit: obviously the next big ride to get a re-model will be Splash Mountain, but this should be next.
