I'll have to get a picture of my whole leg, a lot of blue in the other ones, the the colors in this just tie everything together so well.
So stoked, Nemo (anotheryearofdisaster) is rolling through Abq again March 11th-13th and I'm getting more ink. Can't flipping wait!
Just sent my first inquiry email so I can finally use a gift card my fiance bought me for a local historic shop. It really is the social/etiquette aspect that has kept me from getting more, if I don't know the protocol on how to do something I will not do it for fear of looking dumb. I literally googled what I should write. But it's done and I'm excited.
I 100% get that but if the tattoo artist is cool and you tell em it’s your first time they should be super helpful and walk you through everything. Every artist I’ve interacted with was super nice and helpful.
Yeah I can appreciate that, but will definitely say that you’re probably overthinking it and as long as you’re open to an honest and respectful collaboration any artist will be happy to work with you, and just by approaching things like that you’ll find yourself in the top 25% of all clientele they’ve ever worked with before you even get inked by them. Definitely no such thing as a stupid question or even such thing as a stupid tattoo request. Any artist worth their salt understands their job as the professional is to provide constructive and actionable feedback and to ultimately work with the client to provide work that all parties are happy with. Even the best artists will get plenty of rude, entitled, and delusional clients so thankfully and unfortunately the bar to being considered a great client is pretty low.
Got three in 2023 (Oct, Nov, Dec) All three are berries from Scandinavia - cloud, lingon, and juniper. My skin took really well to all of them and even over a year later, they look awesome.
Tattoo day! Hyped! Also gonna try Saniderm out for the first time. Hope it works well. Any tips on using it are welcome.
I do the first saniderm for 24 hours, take that off and wash it good and let it air dry for an hour and then put on another piece for 4-5 days. Make sure you leave a nice border of at least an inch all around or else it might leak out.
Nice perk is that if you plan on sticking with the same artist and achieve favored client status there’s a good chance you’ll be hooked up with a considerable discount on hourly rate over time. At least anecdotally.
Before After Absolutely love the way it came out. He blew my expectations out of the water. I will say I think I’m done getting tattoos.. my pain tolerance has gone to shit.
I used numbing cream last time I went. Granted, it was my knee cap, but maybe look into it? Tattoos forever
My last one didn’t hurt that much but I might be getting my knee done and even my artist said to use numbing cream for that.
Honestly loving this Saniderm. Wish I had this 18 years ago when I started getting tattoos. not having to constantly wash and apply aquaphor. No drying out. Almost like a pressure bandage on a wound so barely any of that sunburn discomfort feeling. Oh and rounding the corners was a great tip.
Still haven't got on board with the saniderm except for one small tattoo on the back of my leg. I'm of the old adage that whatever I was doing before didn't lead to any issues so why change it up? So as not to upset the artist or argue, if that's what they recommend, I'll let them put it on, but it's normally coming off and I'm going back to the old school way. Itching for a new piece big time but the things I'm saving money for are currently winning out but there will be a tipping point soon.
I was like that too, but for this one I wanted to try it. No complaints so far. I think it’s really gonna help the wrist and side of my hand heal well since those are problematic spots.
I’ve had issues with healing tattoos in the past when they’re in weird spots so I was team saniderm right away. So much easier/better.
