I don't remember mine being terrible, pain wise. That being said, it's the one tattoo I have that has really spread out over time. When it was new each little section was well defined, but over the past 8 years it's turned into a bit of a globby mess. Not sure if it's just the way the skin in that area stretches and changes over time, but I would have simplified if I knew that going in.
I don’t think the ditch is THAT bad, but the elbow sure does suck. Don’t recommend doing the ditch and elbow same day, though, for sure.
I have both of my ditches slightly tattooed and it didn’t hurt but I almost passed out both times cause it reminded me of giving blood. My tattoo artist went and bought me candy and a Mountain Dew both times lol.
I am going to embark on the patchwork leg sleeve journey very soon. I'm concerned about knees and calves lol
Only have a few payments left on my car so I've been spending most of my extra money on that to finish it off. Think I might book with someone for the fall to reward myself for paying that fucker off. Been obsessing over finishing my arms so might try to get that going. Im between going for either a Crazy Sal or a flail.
I saw these on Reddit and really liked them. Minimal and sentimental. I have two corgi's (profile pic) that I would love to get something like this for them.
Ended up getting the elbow ditch done and it surprisingly was not bad at all - I think that's because it's mostly line work, only a small amount of shading in the eye. Hard to get a good picture due to placement and it often looks 'distorted' (vs circular) with the arm bending, but happy with it. About 3 weeks healed and that's the great thing about just black line work. Barely scabs / itches / peels etc.
Thanks. The annoying thing is I fractured that elbow 3 weeks after getting it (luckily it had healed enough), but now it's stuck to where I can't straighten my arm out so it's constantly distorted a little. I'm hoping it doesn't have any long term effects from any healing still going on under the skin. I'm in PT to get the arm movement back. Question for people in here on a new one: - it's on my right arm, but is a left eye. I have an appointment to get another eye on my left ditch (different style but I think complimentary) but it's also a left eye design. It's not like I'll have my elbows next to each other but now I'm worried it'll look odd with two 'left' eyes but I also don't think anyone will ever notice. I'm going to ask my artist before I do it and move it to my leg if it's an issue but any thoughts or am I just madly overthinking it?
