I'll have to get one of the elephant, but the Mickey one looks like this. The head is from the mascot of a popular Baltimore beer name Natty Boh - it's piss beer, like PBR.
Oh yeah, love Mickey, love Disney. My next is going to be a Toy Story inspired tattoo. Something like this, but without the text (Google image search)
That's pretty sick! You should just start working on a Disney sleeve or something that would be pretty badass!
I want to do a horror sleeve first, with Jason, Freddy, and Mike Myers - a quarter sleeve on my arm. But yeah, on my leg, I'd like to get more "fun", cartoonish stuff. Sucks because Mario and Yoshi are on my horror arm, haha. Didn't plan that out well.
That's alot to put in a quarter sleeve, but sounds amazing! I take it you're a big horror fan?! Also, i like that you refer to your arm as your "horror" arm because I do this too. I have the dinosaur w/Jesus on my left arm and really want my right arm to be my Batman 1/2 sleeve but want to get a slightly matching Harry Potter tattoo with the wife on my arm as well but i feel like it would be weird on the "Batman arm" or the "dinosaur arm" lol. Rough predicament to be in haha.
I actually much prefer leg tattoos, I want to get two leg sleeves - if that's what you can call them.
I'll get one for sure, mate. It's definitely worth sharing. Has all the horcruxes, a quidditch scene, Dobby snapping his fingers and of course Harry on his shoulder.
Thanks mate, i also have my arm done by another artist, will try and pull up some photos of that. Edit: The voodoo man is coloured in now and i have a few little acorns and a rose to fill in the space, but these are the main pieces on my sleeve:
I have a couple ideas in my head that I want for my 3rd tattoo, one of them being a Neil Gaiman quote that resonates with me. However, lately I've had this thought bouncing in my head at the same time that I should wait till Gaiman is dead until I tattoo it. Morbid, I know, and he's not even quite old yet, but I'm sure everyone here recalls the Lostprophets and Ian Watkins? Well, I recently read about a model who spent hours covering Lostprophets lyrics she had tattooed after what happened. I refuse to get pictures tattooed, only words, and so I'd have little in the way of options should Gaiman do something reprehensible that would distort the meaning of my potential tattoo. Granted, I know sometimes we find out horrible things about people even after their death, but it's a smaller chance. Anyway, I'm on a bit of a time crunch as I'm determined to get a tattoo while I'm still visiting Europe, so I'm probably going to take care of one of my other ideas and wait on the Gaiman one. Even still, I'd love to hear other voices on the issue.
I can definitely understand where you're coming from but at the same time should something bad come out about Gaiman the quote wouldn't resonate with you any less I wouldn't think at least. And I'm assuming you won't get his name tattooed next to the quote so people probably wouldn't know who the quote was from. Also just curios why only word tattoos?
True, no one would know who the quote was from...but I would haha. I decided to only get word tattoos for a lot of reasons (to clarify, numbers are cool with me too). The main one being that I love my body, my skin color, my unique birthmarks etc and words interrupt my appearance the least whilst still allowing me to express myself and decorate my body. I also change my mind a lot and pictures have many more variables -- I could easily love an artists style one day and hate it the next, and the idea of hating anything permanently on me is a nightmare I cant fathom. Similarly, I have a very very vivid imagination (sometimes it's kinda like being high...my mind is a really weird place) and I can easily see myself starting to see things within a picture. For example, if I got a tattoo of a mountain, I could start to see a face in it or something weird. Lastly, pictures are more subject to interpretation. Words tell you exactly what they mean by nature, whereas a tattoo of a lion could symbolize courage to me and war to someone else. Of course, tattoos are highly personal and in theory, I shouldn't care about anyone elses interpretation, but if that person was someone I cared about enough, it could change how I feel about the tattoo. Sorry for the block of text but yeah I put a lot of thought into it haha.
Cheers mate, yeah those four make up my sleeve which was done by one artist, my leg which was the tiger and the mandrill was done by another.
