Itching for my next one. I have a long skinny space on the half sleeve I'm working on, and I need to find something to fill the spot.
Speaking of Ink Masters, there's a similar show in the UK called Tattoo Fixers where a pop-up tattoo shop is set up and people who have shitty or embarrassing tattoos can go and get them fixed up/covered up. But it's come under a lot of justified fire lately. To the point where tattooists have started a campaign against the show and some are offering free fixing of any the show claims to have "fixed" in the first place: Inkluded - Why Tattoo Artists Are Campaigning Against Tattoo Fixers Tattoo Fixers insider claims to expose ugly truth behind E4 series Why do tattoo artists hate E4's Tattoo Fixers?
Reminds me of the show Tattoo Nightmares I think it was called which is pretty much the same thing where people get a shitty tattoo covered up.
Probably have had 16 hours or so done on it so far. The outlining wasn't too pleasant, but it hasn't been unbearable.
They are definitely addicting! These look awesome! Got a story behind them? Edit: Re: Avatar, great fucking game! My GOTY so far!
Those colours are amazing! I'm toying with the idea of a colour tattoo...but didn't know if the colours got less vibrant over time. Are yours all still looking bright and shiny?
Cheers! I wanted to be a archaeologist when I was little...but I never really made it. I guess they're just a reminder to never give up on dreams. Plus, dinosaurs are fucking cool Isn't Firewatch incredible? The design and voice acting is ridiculously good.
Agreed about dinosaurs, I also have a T-Rex tattooed on me(I posted a pic on the first or second page of it), a BIT different from yours though haha. If you're into video games, join us in the VG thread!
Haha...that tattoo is a thing of beauty! What's the story behind it? Also...are tattoos on the ribs the absolute worst?
Unfortunately no story really, I was inspired by an image I saw of Jesus riding i think a Stegosaurus and found the exact image that I got tattooed only because I thought it was hilarious and would get reactions out of people and would also be a conversation piece. Still don't regret it 8 years later. There have definitely been alot of people ask about it though haha. Edit: RE: Ribs, so far to me, YES absolutely hurt so fucking bad, rattles your entire ribcage anytime something is getting inked near by. Definitely a different feeling.
Colors usually get a bit less vibrant with time, but shouldn't get past looking a bit more natural and subdued, at least if you treat it well and heal the tattoo properly in the first place. If you don't sunbathe too much it helps of course, but it is mostly important while it's still healing. Mine are mostly color tattoos, and they last a long time. Only one I did got a bit faded - but that was actually planned, as it's not really a tattoo design, but a poster graphic with lots of details, small outlines, and is all in "night" colors - which is just probably something you shouldn't do if you want it to be bright for longer. So the right design is also essential - like for example realistic tattoos or "water-paint" tattoos might fade a bit more than old-school designs with thick black outlines holding the ink together. Also, it's obviously for the best if it's just made by a professionalist, who knows how to go well with shading and how much ink is good for a given part. Something I noticed like last year, or maybe two years ago - good quality ink makes for a better looking tattoo as well. For example a company called World Famous is what some of my friends started using at their studios, and it really took their work to the next level, it might be worth checking out what kind of products does the studio you're interested in have.
Getting my last piece for a while in a weeks time, super excited but also really apprehensive. Really not keen for a full day session.
Realized a few days too late that the Boston Tattoo Convention was happening. Megan Jean was there too.
I have a Jason one on my shoulder, Mario on my tricept, Orioles bird on the front of my thigh, and I also have a Natty Boh/Mickey mouse and elephant in a suit on my lower leg
I'm getting a barn owl clutching a lantern in his claw. Nothing original but I love the dudes work. This is two tattoos I have from him already:
My best friend has a whole Harry Potter sleeve and people go NUTS over it. It's really cool to talk to people about.
