Yeah I wash with unscented soap as part of my routine, I’ve just heard you shouldn’t let water hit directly for a bit because it can sink too deep while it’s healing? Maybe I’m just thinking of soaking though with tubs
Showering and washing it is okay, just don’t soak it — especially in public/natural water — for 3 weeks.
So I want to start the process of getting my first tattoo, my fiance has a few and recommended her guy who I love his work based on Insta. But, I want like a drawing to see the design first (willing to pay for work for that), so I messaged him and he said he doesn't do that, but to come to the shop. How does that process normally go?
typically you go in for a consultation, describe what you want & where you want it, and just kinda talk things over for 15 minutes or so. then you book an appointment to actually get the tattoo, and usually put a deposit down. you typically don't see the finished design until you go in to get the tattoo, which i know seems scary, but they'll modify it day-of based on your thoughts, they're not gonna force you to get something permanently on your body that you're not excited about so don't be afraid to speak up.
Awesome, yeah I think I should just go in and talk to him then. I want his interpretation of my design, if that makes sense.
the more you let them work their own style into a design you've created the happier they will be and the end result will be so much better because of it.
I wonder how many people will see this and then get that tattoo. A design 2500 years old, from a world that could never imagine the world of today. Amazing.
I have an appointment next week! First one in years. And this guy has been booked since the beginning of April when I made the appointment. Brett Burnham (@brettburnham) • Instagram photos and videos
Itching for my next one. Thinking of getting a stegosaurus on my inside bicep for my daughter. I loved dinosaurs as a kid and she has just started learning some of the names (she's only 2 and she picked up stegosaurus all by herself from tv). The guy who did my first tattoo does some awesome cubist designs so thinking of working with him to come up with something really bold and unique.
Any opinions on having two sleeves with 2 different styles? Im working on my left arm currently in a geometric style, but on the right arm I really want a bunch of colorful traditional tattoos. Would it look bad to have two contrasting styles like that?
Mine are two different styles; shit, half and half on one of my arms are different styles; don’t worry about it.
