Got this lil snake boi at the Boston Tattoo convention on a whim last night! Done by Nick Lambert (formerly of Vanna). Dude hasn't been tattooing full time for very long but he was great to work with. I was a little nervous getting ink at a convention since I'd never even been to one before but I'm loving the outcome of this more and more.

 

I'm curious. How are prices at conventions typically?

 

I paid $200 for mine which I thought was very reasonable. When I was walking around the venue checking out the artists flash books/sheets, I wanna say a lot of it looked a bit overpriced. Like I was seeing some flash that was close to half the size of what I got for not much less than what I paid.

 

So it varies, which makes sense.

I've heard from a couple people that some artists will do stuff for free if they are wanting to do something specific, just wasn't sure if you experienced that or not

 

I'm just about 2 weeks away from the appointment I booked last fall. I have no idea what she charges per hour and hope it isn't a ton. I have a little set aside but hopefully I'm not looking at too much

 

Oh yeah that was going on too! Best one I heard of while I was there was an artist giving away a free butthole tattoo

Her assistant hasn't been very responsive. But they texted me today asking if I can come in a week early so I guess I'll see if they'll answer me this time

 

I really hope so haha, I never found out if it got done or saw the results since my gf and I left right after getting our ink finished
