I need to post up some pics of my sleeve.. I think I did back on Absolute.. About to start my right arm, full black and grey. Left arm has color throughout.
I'd say the most painful spot I've ever been tatted... was my foot. Brutality. I've sat for 5 hours and never tapped. I sat for 45 for my foot and almost tapped out multiple times.
I've been thinking about this a lot lately. Like I've begun to reject this idea that every tattoo has to have this grand significant meaning for other people to appreciate. Like maybe I just want something dumb because I thought it would be cool and that's where I was at at the time and nothing more. FWIW this stemmed from wanting a tattoo of a moth with a wing pattern that looks like pepperoni pizza, so that's where I'm at currently haha
Yeah, not a single one of mine have "significant meaning." I have Jason Voorhees, Mario & Luigi, Mickey Mouse, a zombie hand, and an Orioles logo. It's stuff I enjoy, a lot, but is it significant? Definitely not. The elephant one is the only one that has a story/inside joke.
Here's what my sleeve looks like. Sorry for the nudity haha Took 2 years exactly to finish with me going in pretty regularly. Definitely love how it came out. People comment on it all the time.
Thanks! The funny thing is, most all of it does have meaning. I mean besides the filler (stars) and such. Haha
I used to go to Star Tattoo. It's actually a pretty well known place in the tattooing community I guess. My artist is Alex Werder Look him up on Instagram he goes by "lordoil"
Alex does good work, I want to get a tattoo by him or Chris Partain. Alex and Chris both left Star Tattoo.
Yeah! Alex is at Good Fortune and Chris is at Stay Gold.. I wanna say. I'd love to get something from Chris too.
I wanted to get my hands done as well. But that's why I cut off where I did. So I could wear dress shirts and they wouldn't show.
now that i have two tattoos on the small side, makes the idea of getting more or something more substantial a lot easier. i feel the stigma of getting one diminishes after the first. my mom really hate tattoos though. like i know a lot of people say that about their parents not liking them but i'm talking she will probably never speak to me if she knew i had the ones that i do. ones under my boob so it goes unnoticed easily and my underboob can cover it even in a bathing suit but my other one is on my ribs at my bra line. again mostly able to cover but its not as easy maybe in a swimming situation. sucks to be 25 and have to still think about such an asinine thing. there's an artist not too far from me in Tyler, TX (some know him because he's done tattoos on Sherri Dupree and i think on Max Bemis too) that does such good work but getting an appointment is nearly impossible. he opens the books for about 5 minutes online every once and a while and fills up for months if you dont get in during those five minutes. honestly, he's so good. (not my tattoos to clarify, just examples of his work)
That work is unreal! Also sorta related but my wife got her tattoo and hid it for a few years from her parents and once they found out that don't really care too much cuz it's on her ribs. Hopefully it's that type of situation for you and the fear is just in your head(I've been there too so I absolutely know where you're coming from)
So cool! Love the style! Not sure if you're that into comics other than Batman but is this based off any comic book artist at all?
thank you. The tattoo artist works in Glasgow. He's done an amazing job. As far as comics go, I am more focused on batman than anything else. Not so much a particular artist but loosely based around comics/arkham video games. He did an amazing job of batman I think. Stands out really well. If you'd like to see his work he is on instagram as @kylesmithtattooer. I'd highly recommend him to anyone.
