yeah I don't know that I will go that way either, though I won't knock it! I like the 'stamped' type sleeve stuff more I guess, and even though I have some small gaps that bother me, I can always just do a flash event or something and get something dumb lol
I still have a few smaller gaps that I could do the stars/dots but I feel like it makes the other tattoos harder to read. I already got a few teeth to fill in some gaps. I’ve planned my leg out a lot better and won’t have any gaps after my tattoo appt next week.
I've always preferred more complete coverage (which is why I'm basically working on a bodysuit now), but it's tricky if you're getting lots of smaller pieces. Too much filler can definitely lead to things looking too blended together as they age.
I definitely have weird gaps on upper arms and legs I need to work to fill. It's why I haven't touched my lower arm yet as I want something that wraps or a full design there, as so far I'm just patchwork. It's all good though. I don't regret any of the tattoos individually, and I don't know if I'd have regretted one big tattoo vs being able to go more often and get ideas as they pop up. Pros and cons to either way I guess.
The only one that I sort of regret is a flash that I have that is weirdly on the side of my thigh. It’s a little cowboy skull that I love but the placement has been such a pain when thinking about putting a bigger piece on the back of my leg hahah
Got two smaller cheap low quality ones right below each elbow crease when I was in my early twenties. Highly visible and definitely regretted them fairly quickly. Probably went through five years or so of not liking them before I found the right artist and enough money to get them covered up. Once that was done I really brainstormed and kind of planned out a good 80% of the total ones I would ever want to get. The few remaining spots I don’t have plans for I’m leaving open for future inspiration or a problem for future me.
I definitely have ones I don’t love or wish I did differently but I don’t have anything I outright hate.
I don't regret the subject matter for most of mine, save maybe one. I'd probably go to different artists right away if I was starting over, but they're all part of my story and therefore important to my collection.
thanks! that skull was a cool touch, he cooked with this one. and dude me too. every time I think about getting something in color I just can't do it, I love the black and grey too much haha
Just got these 2. Little trad crab in baltimore (fri the 13th flash) and then this alien. Probably time to change my avatar now I'm carrying around one on my leg.
Thank you. Yes - Suneater, a scifi book series. Its not exact to any official art, just tweaked for composition, but i think it (hopefully) remain recognizable to anyone who would know it.
Niceeeee. That series has been on my radar since I finished The Expanse - my sister loved it and recommended it to me.
It wasn't bad at all; we stayed on the muscle. Though I've been told now by three separate artists that I sit amazingly well, regardless of where they're working The only spot I have that I'll never do again is the side of my ribcage.
getting my knee ditch and the back of my thigh done on Friday. I sat OK for the knee but wondering how the ditch is gonna be lol
I’ve been told that too, until I just started my stomach / ribs / side., lol. But good to know because I need to fill those spots too.
