happy anniversary to GFM!!! here's a thread I'm updating throughout the day of dumb shit we used to do for this band + nice memories

 

I miss this band so much and I'm going to be listening to them all day now

 

Jesus it’s been that long? Wow. But awesome, that record means the world to me.

 

Time moves SO fast.

Miss this band.

 

God, I remember Good for Me first coming out when I was a senior in college...I am old as shit now.

Time flies. I need to give their discography a good listen because it's been a moment since I've delved into it.

 

I gave their discography a listen a week or two ago. Going to do that again tonight. I miss them a ton.

 

Good For Me and Suburbia coming out the same day was the best day ever

Probably didn't help The Swellers out much though

 

I was the saltiest person in the WORLD abt this and then I really had to take my foot out of my mouth when TWY ended up being one of my favorite bands.

 

Yeah I just think it would have gotten much better reception without the Suburbia hype :(

 

It was such a golden summer for that era of pop punk though. I think it's insane that this, Suburbia, and Gpspel are all from the same year.

 

Shout out to FBR for not just dropping the ball but for punting it into another dimension

 

remember when we threw an entire party when they bought out their contract?

 

I still remember them opening for paramore either in Asia or South America or something and I thought THIS IS IT ITS HAPPENING FOR THEM

Then nothing.

 

2011 for me was basically Killing Time all spring, Good For Me all summer, Clash Battle Guilt Pride all fall, and Separation all winter. Crazy year for that corner of music

The day GFM came out I just sat in my living room and blared it for hours. It was the first Swellers album that I full on loved from front to back

 

they had fun though!!

 

Yeah they definitely had fun but man I thought that tour would be their break.

 

They also opened the big Paramore tour after Brand New Eyes

 

Seeing this thread be active makes me so happy. Such great memories with this band. I always request "Bad for Me" at stay-home karaoke nights. Good for Me remains my favorite of theirs.

 

It's verified: The Light Under Closed Doors is still a huge banger of a record 5 years later. I always wish bands like this would at least continue to release music every once in a while even if they're not touring anymore.

 

are you kidding me has it really been 5 years?? i'm shocked. I love that record so much.

 

Holy shit I would have never guessed its been 5 years

 

TLUCD is my favorite album by these guys. Only full length album i own on vinyl from these too lol. I mean, I have running out of places to go on vinyl, but that’s an ep.

 

Nothing reminds me of how fast time moves than album anniversaries for this band, haha. I miss them every day.

 

''Designated Driver'' might be their most underrated song. Miss these guys.
