Others have also started to come forward to as a heads up. feel incredibly sick knowing this all happened to a lot of my close friends from then.
By the sound of it, Nick was grooming minors who were 10yrs younger than him all across the US. Just like all of our other musical idols from the music scene. Ugh.
Ugh. Every time this thread gets bumped I click in hoping for reunion news. So wow, those two pages did the speed run of the "I liked a pop-punk band in the early to mid-2000s" disappointment experience.
There’s a second allegation from a person I know. Back in 2009-2011 we used to have a Warped Tour chat. She was 12-13 at the time and got into the Swellers because she was from their hometown. The fact that Nick groomed someone from that young of age is absolutely disgusting. This really sucks.
Yeah, there’s 3 at least I know of from the MI scene. Seems to be more out there in other states as well unfortunately.
Looks they already deleted the posts on their own Instagram too, reunions done before it even started. Super disappointed in a guy that always seemed like a decent person.
The statements from the victims would suggest that they were aware of his behaviour in general. Why do you feel awful for him?
Back in the day there was a rumor floating around that the reason The Swellers got black balled so much was that he would have/tried to get Hayley to tickle him and Chad found out. Anytime there was a NFG show with a tour package Swellers were on they would be left off the bill unexplained. I always thought that was a weird lie but now seeing adults come out saying when they were minors he would have them tickle him I know it wasn’t a lie. Then again doesn’t explain why Chad has a pedal Nick makes. Also this fucking sucks. The one reunion I wanted.
Well that's a gut punch. Nick had one of the more wholesome social media accounts posting about his family life a lot. I hope his statement is true that he's worked through this in therapy and that he's in a good place with his family, and good on them for realizing that getting back on the road isn't the right thing to do based on what's happened.
