Yeah I didn’t realize people didn’t like the first one. I watched it with my son after he got into MarioKart and had a blast with it

 

It made a ton of money, it’s not some great film, it was successful, who cares

 

I guess the way I see it is, it's a cartoon movie aimed towards very young children made by the same people who made Minions. We knew what we were getting out of that, and if anything, I think it was better than I expected.

Now, if/when the Zelda movie sucks, I think disappointment in that is far more understandable

 

Yoshi is so cool

 

yoshi is indeed my shit cannot wait to see him. He’s my go to in MarioKart and Smash brothers and was my favorite part of Super Mario 3, my son will be very exited about Yoshi just because of that lol

 

Yoshi is my guy. I cannot wait for this.

 

The two Mario movies are an interesting comparison in different types of bad movies. The 90's one is notoriously bad, but it is much easier to remember images and scenes from that movie. The new movie is much newer but it is so lifeless that it is hard to remember anything because it was so much a grab bag of winks and nods to the audience.

Is the original Mortal Kombat still the best video game movie?

Best video game movie is either Sonic 3 or the first Mario movie in 2023 imo

 

my kids love the first one and I enjoy watching it with them. all I can really ask for out of a super mario movie haha

 

I’m excited to bring my kids to this! The first movie was their intro to all things Mario and we had a blast going to the theater together

 

Also they were so hyped at the yoshi reveal in the trailer
