I will say this was better than the GOAT movie, but I also had a terrible hangover during that one

 

Now at least that would have been a better movie.

 

I know it is probably not but the scene of Peach and Rosalina connecting hands and floating made me think they were stealing the scene of Dagger and Eiko in Final Fantasy IX.

 

I actually thought the same thing lol.

Also, the Bowser/Bowser Jr. storyline felt weirdly similar to the Robotnik storyline in Sonic 3 (the movie).

 

My thoughts exactly. As long as my son enjoys it and has a good time.

 

I really enjoyed the first one and am still shocked at all the hate for it but it is what it is. All I know is I’m taking my 3 year old and 11 year old to see it tomorrow and I know at least the 3 year old will love it. Since we told him he’s going he’s been watching the trailer all day. That’s all that matters to me.

 

So I had fun at the theatre with this because my son was having a good time and so were all the other kids. But this is a really weird movie. The concept of bowser jr kidnapping Rosalina is a good concept imo but after it happens the next 80 minutes are just 5-10 minute scenes stitched together. Honestly Mario, Luigi and Yoshi bring this down a lot.

so overall not very good and it will be forgotten over time

 

What if this was just a really long Nintendo Direct?

 

Can't wait for the new game Super Mario Pander

I think all the criticisms I’ve seen so far are valid and I agree with them for the most part but I still mostly enjoyed this. Not anywhere as much as I enjoyed the first one but I don’t regret seeing it or anything. I’d like for them to continue and hopefully nail the next one.

 

Despicable Me 2 though.

When do I get to see Morton on the big screen

 

My kids had fun, but they definitely weren't blown away. Even for a kids movie I thought it was absolute nonsense. These films are essentially theme park rides; the whole point seems to be "recognize this?" for 90 minutes.

 

Movie sucked. Just boring and soulless. Felt like a direct to VHS sequel. End credits were more entertaining.

 

I’m mad they saved the nihilistic star for the mid-credits scene, but at least it was there. Best character in the franchise.

 

I actually cannot stand that character lol

 

I wonder if, since Daisy was in the stinger, they'll have the force that tried to take the princesses' power when they were kids be Tatanga.

 

This was ok. Fun for Nintendo fans but completely devoid of emotion.

 

If you imagine this being said in a cute kid voice, it's something that character could say

 

My kids loved it. It was better than I thought it would be, but nothing to write home about. I liked Star Fox and the fight scenes. I liked Yoshi's flashback. It was mostly forgettable and just felt like they were jumping from one reference/cameo to the next. A lot of references were lost on me, made me feel like "oh, I bet this goes hard if you know who these guys are" but I don't think you should have to do a bunch of homework to enjoy a movie, you know?
