So are Between The Buried And Me, Code Orange, Thy Art Is Murder and Power Trip likely to play, or are they confirmed?

OP is kinda confusing.

 

Also remember that in 2016 only one band on the SS lineup actually played Heavy Montreal and that was Suffocation, so I’d say literally anything is on the table at this point

 

None are confirmed yet just trying to break it into three different sections

 

It's just speculation. There's no basis that really any of those bands are playing right not other than looking at openings on touring schedules and their presence on certain festivals (Heavy MTL). I also really don't see Summer Slaughter shifting away from their deathcore/death metal roots with bands like Power Trip and Code Orange. Other than an occasional Dillinger or Norma Jean appearance, history doesn't support it.

 

I don't think they're too far of a stretch still. Power Trip has toured with bands like Cannibal Corpse and Exodus and Code Orange has played with Dying Fetus in the past. Plus these past couple of years there seems to be at least one "oddball" band (After The Burial and Betraying The Martyrs).

 

Not to be combative, but I really still don't see it. Summer Slaughter has never had a true thrash band on the tour in it's entire existence since 2007 based on a quick scan of the Wikipedia page. Power Trip has toured with Cannibal Corpse, yes, but everyone and their mother has toured with Cannibal Corpse over the years. Personally, I'd love for the powers that be to mix it up and put on something different like Power Trip, but I just don't see it happening.

Code Orange playing would be a Norma Jean level curveball ala 2013 Summer Slaughter tour. But I still just see them as being too rooted in hardcore to play Summer Slaughter. Just my 2 cents.

After the Burial and Betraying the Martyrs aren't oddballs at all due to their affiliation with Sumerian. You can expect at least 2-4 acts associated with Sumerian to be on the bill every year like clockwork.

I have no clue, but I just got into their new record and it's pretty solid.

 

To the best of my knowledge, Slugdge has never played a live show.

code orange has a better chance of opening for five finger death punch this summer than being on summer slaughter. or they'll just do their own headliner...which is actually overdue.

I'd rather see BTBAM do their own tour instead of an hour set where they play five songs
