    The Sugarcubes (Sykurmolarnir in Icelandic) were an Icelandic alternative rock band formed in 1986 and disbanded in 1992. They were one of the bands that Bjork was in before going solo, and easily the best and most interesting of her pre-solo work. They played joyous and fun music, nothing gloomy about them.

    Those two albums in the OP are nearly as good as anything Bjork did by herself. They have that spontaneity, and just pure fun and ridiculousness that she carried into her solo work, and it's just an absolute joy to listen to.
