Titane was one of my favorite films of 2021 and this sounds like this is another potential Palm D'Or winner in that vein. Shot up to one of my most anticipated of the year
Looks sick. Someone in the comments that claims to have seen it at Cannes said that the trailer is still managing to give nothing away about how insane this thing is.
Fainted while watching this last night lol. Might be surprising to anyone who has already seen it, but if there's one thing in the entire world that truly repulses me it's needles/injections, which feature in abundance here and in an unrelenting manner. Absolutely adored it, though. Constantly switches between gorgeous wide Kubrick-inspired liminal shots and uncompromisingly gross close-up body shots. Demi Moore was fantastic. Margaret Qualley was fantastic. Incredibly distressing to watch them both go through various forms of self-hatred and self-harming. Easily the best horror I've seen* this year. *Had to leave with about 30 minutes remaining because I was about to pass out again. Going to catch it again on Friday.
Body horror isn’t really my thing but everything I’m hearing about this sounds like it’ll probably be best with an audience, so I might just go tonight while it’s still fresh
