I don’t hate this take. ITI>RoF>FIoE>CM>A Their demise is a little exaggerated tbh. All 3 of those bottom records have 4+ really good-great songs.
Have y'all seen them live? I saw them right after FIOE came out and it's still one of my favorite shows I've been to.
First Impressions is unfortunately the one record of theirs I've still yet to get a handle on I think I reach for it less due to the length Should try again for sure though
you only live once electricityscape ize of the world red light vision of division razorblade FIOE is an absolute masterpiece.
Julian did "Ask Me Anything" by himself and started it by saying, "This song is how I'm gonna try to get into Heaven..." It was great.
It's crazy how much of a bad reception FIOE got. I remember being disappointed at first but stuck with it and it started opening up after some time.
I'll be honest, I think Angles is a bad album. Maybe one or two songs that are alright, but otherwise it's seriously boring.
angles has about four good songs on it but those songs are really good i've never gotten with first impressions as a whole, bloated and directionless and you can tell. many great songs on it still
room on fire is just the slightest bit new wavier than is this it and it was my favorite for ages bc of this (also the songs all kick goddamn ass)
FIOE reminds me of Maladroit in that they're longer than their other albums, is generally seen as a weird outlier to what we've heard so far, and is the respective bands' best album.
that is a wild opinion but i respect you for having it although maladroit is not longer than other weezer albums
i agree about maladroit but that’s bc there’s more nitpicks about blue, pinkerton and green looking back. i don’t think you can say the same about ITI and ROF. that’s a blazing scorched earth take.
