Actually just got Albert Hammond Jr - Yours To Keep on vinyl. Been hoping for that to get pressed forever, and thankfully it just was on Record Store Day. Near packaging, too.
Looks like they are streaming the second song "Drag Queen" now and the last song later today at. The Strokes
Solid set at Gov Ball. The Clash cover was insane. I'm glad they only played two of the new songs instead of all 3
Bunch of sites running with the fact that they had like 90,000 people watch them at Lolla in Argentina. Crazy.
Not to double post, but they're one of my favorite bands and some of this is so sad. Albert's had the best solo career in my estimation, glad he's clean and new music is always great from him. So crazy that they didn't own it. White Stripes (Jack specifically) would have always gotten their due, but the parallels that they draw between The Killers and Kings of Leon are so spot on. There's no reason that The Strokes shouldn't consistently be touring on par with those two bands other than they don't seem to want to.
Listening through these guys' discography for the first time this week. "Ask Me Anything" is an amazing track.
I've mostly hated Rick Rubin's recent production work (excluding Yeezus), ESPECIALLY on rock records, but Comedown Machine was their best in awhile so I'm intrigued
