Pitchfork hates these guys, huh. The reviews of the last three albums are all way too negative, imo.

 

Harvilla review on The Ringer is the best I’ve read so far.

this is really good! I'd probably be happier if the songs were a little shorter, but that's just a general preference for me. Julian sounds terrific. This is definitely the most 'chill' Strokes album out there, I think it'll make great music to work too. It doesn't touch the songcraft of their first two (which I feel like are untouchable perfect albums that we really need to get away from comparing their later stuff to), but I'm very pleased with it. Probably going to order the red vinyl.

At The Door is probably my favorite strokes ballad.

 

julian really brought it. this album is awesome. the last 2 songs are so rad.

well,

 

‪man Eternal Summer is one of the coolest songs the Strokes have ever written ‬

 

Fucking loving this thing.

Too early to tell on this one, but I can already tell it won’t be on the bottom.

For the record, I love FIOE!

 

My exact ranking. Pushing play on this new one now for the first time.

 

I wish I could get into Angles but I check out after like the first 3 songs every time

This album is real good.

 

games and moonlight are pretty good. and under cover might be my favorite strokes song... alas

 

yeah, angles has three or four classic songs, but also their worst five or six

 

First Impressions of Earth is far and away my favorite. Is This It? and Room on Fire are tied for next, but I love them both. I love half of Comedown Machine and the rest are okay. Angles never did anything for me overall.

Only one listen to this new album but it didn’t do it for me either.
