this has probably already been posted but in one of their recent-ish streams fab or someone said there's 4-5 songs they left off The New Abnormal that'll be used for the follow-up hopefully we get that thing sooner than a 7 year wait between albums again lol
I feel similarly to first impressions as I do angles. Some of my absolute favorite Strokes songs, and also several meh ones.
Nah I blocked him because he literally has acted like a tool in multiple threads calling me all kinds of things when I wasn’t even trying to argue initially. Why engage when you can just block and move on?
Honestly, I’m just glad the band seems to have a renewed energy to them. Between the Grammy win and both critics/fans enjoying this new record - they gotta be feeling good.
i honestly have no idea who you are and cannot recall ever interacting with you on this site lol it’s a music website and a strokes thread on top of that. i promise you that you don’t have to turn yourself into a corncob over this.
This is from the other night at Irving Plaza with Dev Hynes (Blood Orange) who came out to sing with Julian! Incredible. It was for a great cause too - fundraising for NYC mayoral candidate Maya Wiley
Alright here’s a rank and a take for ya. Room on Fire Is This It New Abnormal Comedown Machine First Impressions Angles BUT If you took the best songs from First Impressions and Angles and made one album out of them it would be my favorite Strokes album.
Comedown Machine is such a great record. It loses a bit of steam for me in the very middle and then comes back really well and I can even stand behind the closer. Probably in my top 3
1. Is This It? 2. Room on Fire 3. Comedown Machine 4. The New Abnormal 5. First Impressions of Earth 6. Angles FIOE has some good songs but I still think the best songs on CM are better (outside of maybe YOLO). One Way Trigger, Tap Out and Chances are very high tier Strokes songs.
I really appreciate the Strokes using their platform for good causes like this. Hell yes. Also, hyped for a new track!!
