I like the new album a lot - for me one of the best in 2020 so far.
There are similarities in Bad Decisions to blink-182 - On Some Emo Shit in the beginning, then to Billy Idol - Dancing With Myself.

 

This is still one of the best albums of the year

i've heard this ode to the mets probably 300 time since its my wife's SOTY. that video was incredible.

 

the two ballads on this I think are two of their best songs ever

 

They’re playing SNL next week!

 

I think Ode to the Mets might be the Song of the Pandemic.

 

This album feels so long ago

I was supposed to see them live a few weeks before it came out

 

hell yes

 

I refuse to let this album get memory holed.

 

With John Mulaney!! SNL is very hit or miss (new Adele episode sucks) but it’s always solid when John is hosting. V hyped for next week.

 

I honestly didn't even realize it was still this year that this album came out lmao

 

it's an AOTY candidate for me

 

it probably won’t crack my top 25 but i still love it. it’s in the same brain space for me as the pearl jam album.

 

is it still considered crazy to like Comedown Machine and Angles the most

 

yes

but they're still very good albums

 

This album kinda fell off my radar when it first came out, but I'm really enjoying it now. Probably won't crack my top 10 for the year, but definitely a great addition to their discography. Too soon to say if I like it more than Angles and Comedown Machine, but I think I can already say it's much more cohesive than those two.

 

This album will definitely make my top 10 AOTY list. I’m a huge Strokes fan and have loved every record but like @manoverboard365 said - this is the most cohesive record they’ve released in the past decade.


Also; I’ll die on the hill that First Impressions of Earth is their Magnum Opus.
