Got bored and wrote out a dream setlist for a tour in support of this album Last Nite Reptilia Heart in a Cage Under Cover of Darkness Welcome to Japan Brooklyn Bridge to Chorus Bad Decisions Tap Out Machu Picchu You Only Live Once What Ever Happened Someday Drag Queen Ask Me Anything At The Door Ize of the World New York City Cops Eternal Summer One Way Trigger Call It Fate, Call It Karma ————- The Adults Are Talking Hard To Explain Take It Or Leave It
Putting Last Nite and Reptilia right at the beginning of a set list like that, insanity. Those are encore songs
I actually don't like when bands open with some of their biggest songs, I never feel like I'm in the full "concert mode" until like two or three songs in so I'm never fully into it yet so I don't experience the songs that well if that makes sense. Happened when I saw FOB open with Sugar We're Going Down a few years ago God I fucking miss concerts
Anyone else notice the guitar lick from “Why Are Sunday’s So Depressing?” sounds like Maxine Nightingale’s “Where We Started From”. Mainly on the outro. 3:30 and on.
The only part of the Pitchfork review I agree with is the part about Austin Powers. I can’t not hear it now.
He sounds like Austin Powers in the bridge of Eternal Summer? I don't really hear it at all. Some lines he sounds vaguely British but those still sound more like just nasally slurred speech
It’s nothing I ever would have thought of myself, but now that it’s been said, I find myself chuckling when he screams “psychedelic.” I like the song tho.
It’s definitely become more prominent. It’s great throughout CM and TNA. I was listening to “Chances” last night....that’s one of the best Strokes songs. Gorgeous. The best outcome from this really good Strokes record is that I’ve rediscovered Comedown Machine and it’s fantastic.
The last 90 seconds of “Ode to the Mets” feels like slowly ascending into orbit and then bursting into flames it’s so good
