I just saw a clip that They played the new song on Colbert and it’s insanely better with out the autotune. Baffling decision to use it and have it so loud in the mix.

 

I like both singles but I’m a casual strokes fan and also love Instant Crush by Daft Punk so I’m in the “give me more auto tune vox” camp.

 

i care alot less about the autotune than i do the song

 

I like both singles quite a bit for the record.

 

Do I wish Julian eased up on the auto-tune? Yes.
Do I still like both singles? Also, yes.

 

I also wish they went with either single’s cover art for the album art. They’re both so much better lol

 

I don’t mind the auto tune the song is just kinda boring.

 

First Impressions is my favorite but damn does Comedown Machine freaking rule.

 

Okay, I’m really digging this track now.

Still think the recorded version is about a minute too long and going a little less hard on the autotune would’ve done wonders but it’s clicking big time for me now.

 

First Impressions and Room On Fire always duke it out for my favorite Strokes record. The former is so under appreciated compared to the first two and I’ll never understand why.

I like Comedown Machine as well but some of those lyrics are just too damn silly even for Julian. Instrumentally, CM is phenomenal though!

One of my absolute favorite bands. Top 3 change all the time. FIOE would maybe be the best to me if tracks 9-11 were cut. Angles is half good. New one is shaping up to be the worst project Julian has been involved in

 

man falling out of love has grown on me so much. gorgeous song.

Angles is my least favorite. I feel like they went a little too 80's on it. But it's got like 3 or 4 songs that are top shelf. Under the Cover of Darkness and Taken For A Fool are just so incredibly good.

 

Angles is very underrated. Spent a lot of time with it today. Time changes, riffs, 80’s vibes, uptempo stuff…lots of really cool stuff on the album.

I’d probably upset people with how high I’d rank the album.

 

Machu Picchu, Under Cover of Darkness, Taken For A Fool, Games and Life Is Simple In The Moonlight are all top tier. Other half is mostly just okay to me

 

You’re So Right is the only bad song on there for me

 

Angles is my least favorite by them if I had to pick one but Under Cover of Darkness is in like my top 3 songs by them

 

FOOL is growing on me. The autotune wasn't the problem for me. Just think it's a boring song haha. It is a beautiful sounding song though.

 

The announced NY show looks awesome but they delayed the release to 7/24???
