Yep. CM and Angles are a couple of their best releases and critically (but not practically) underrated. TNA is good but easily towards the bottom of their discog.
1. Room on Fire 2. Is This It 3.Comedown Machine 4. New Abnormal 5. Angles 6. First Impressions... pretty difficult ranking because the first two are all timers and each subsequent release, while not perfect, each have a handful of incredible songs, some good ones, and some bad ones
1. Is This It? 2. Room on Fire 3. Comedown Machine Everything else I’m pretty lukewarm on. The other 3 are just really uneven. I think Angles has like 3 or 4 of the best Strokes songs and everything else is almost unlistenable. First Impressions is overstuffed and suffers from editing and poor sequencing. I think TNA is mostly just fine and a little forgettable save 2 songs or so.
Agreed on Angles, its basically a mix of great and bad. I adore the first 3 songs on First Impressions and generally can't get through the rest of the album after that
Been this way for a minute though and at least he’s not masking it to make himself sound better - it’s a stylistic choice. Not one I dig either though FWIW
