The new season of Interview coming next year has me confused. So the show is being retitled as "The Vampire Lestat" as it moves onto the adapting the next book in the series, but it's still technically considered season 3 and not just a brand new spinoff?
I guess the way they see it is, S1 and S2 are adapting book 1, S3 is book 2, and S4 could either been lestat part 2 or they'll move onto the next book. I guess they thought it'd make sense for book readers to accurately title the seasons after the books.
Like why not just make it season 1 of a new show if they're changing the series name and source material? I guess it doesn't make too much difference besides episode numbering but still it's kinda weird.
So this whole AMC Anne Rice-verse is ultimately leading to a series adaptation of The Queen of the Damned right? That will be kinda sick.
I think it would have been better to have an easier to digest titling like the books, such as The Vampire Chronicles: Interview, The Vampire Chronicles: Lestat etc so I wonder what went into planning because obviously they could only get SO much out of a Interview show and then what. But yeah, Queen of the Damned is the next book so depending on however many seasons we get of this, it'll lead into that new show.
I just watched it now; I quite liked it. Really tense and emotional at certain parts. Actors really conveyed the seriousness of the situation they were put in. Purpose of the film (imo) was to show how an actual strike might play out with those in charge, and I think it effectively did that. Only two GBI’s being launched to intercept? Yeah that was unrealistic, but the rest (to me at least) played out as I assume it would plausibly play out in real life. You can test and train 850 times, but will you act that way when it actually happens? I would have liked a resolution of course, but film wasn’t really about that.
For November streaming stuff I am most excited for Death By Lightning and Pluribus. I am cautiously optimistic about I Love LA and will check it out at least. I will watch the new seasons of Landman and Stranger Things even though I am not particularly excited about them.
Mayor of Kingstown is back, looking forward to watching the first 2 episodes of the new season later on!
