Adolescence was very good but extremely sad

 

I randomly decided to rewatch the final two seasons of The Crown (I like that this show is kinda like three separate mini shows you can watch on their own). It's not bad, but man the Diana/Dodi stuff is a slog to get through. I could not give less of a shit about Dodi Fayed's daddy issues.

 

For every good Eddie Murphy movie, he has to make at least 3 terrible ones. The tradition continues!

Posted about it in the last thread, but since that’s archived now I’m gonna signal boost Adults on Hulu/FX again. New sitcom that falls somewhere between New Girl and Broad City. Would love to see it get a second season - 2/3 into the first so far and it feels like every episode has been funnier than the last

Ok from the marketing I assumed it was like Girls but with Zoomers instead of Millenials.

 

As a person that has only seen a few episodes of Girls, I can’t attest to the accuracy of that, haha. It seems much more comedy forward than anything I’ve seen from Girls though

 

I don't know what's going on with that at the moment, maybe they r still filming?!

The Astroworld Tragedy doc on Netflix was unbelievably sad and infuriating. Basically the conclusion that it came to was that Travis Scott may have contributed by not having enough situational awareness on stage, but ultimately the blame 99.9% lays on Live Nation behind the scenes stuff. Poor planning, unsafe layout design, slow communication. Insane there were no criminal negligence charges filed.

For the show nerds in here this doc goes pretty deep into the science of concert layout design.

This is where they fucked up. Keep in mind the main stage was reserved for Scott's headline set and empty until he came on so everyone migrated from the other stage at the same time. The main stage was also split into four quadrants by a central spine and podium area. It's easy to see here how a bottleneck happened with 50k people coming from the same direction.

Also they sold 50k tickets and the main stage viewing capacity was 35k.

 

Also just finished the Astroworld doc. Really sad, and so preventable.

That issue with all the crowd surging to stage right is something I notice at a lot of venues, especially Bonnaroo when a headliner plays unopposed and people are rushing from the Which stage to the Main.
