Half Man was flawed but solid. Some really good scenes mixed with a some choices I didn’t love. Not as good as Baby Reindeer, but Richard Gadd is clearly very talented.
Same. I understand why some people would call it bleak, filled with misery etc but I feel it had some genuinely beautiful parts and as a whole really had something to say about toxic masculinity and reinforce the idea that in the end....hurt people hurt people. As much as Adolescence has an impact in the broader conversation about toxic masculinity,I feel this also should be recognized too. Baby Reindeer showed that Gadd had something special, Half Man reinforced it.
That specific genre not really, time is somewhat comparable to his others. His big shows were Yellowstone which is basically a modern day neo-Western drama set in Montana (ranching and guns), it's prequels 1883 and 1923 which are period pieces showing how the Yellowstone ranch came to be set in the respective years (also guns and action). Other Sheridan shows that aren't tied to Yellowstone are Mayor Kingstown and Tulsa King. Mayor of Kingstown is about an unofficial mayor that runs the local prison from the outside and is basically a crime thriller and Tulsa King is about an ex mob guy moving out to the middle of nowhere and re-establishing his crime lifestyle to the new surroundings. Mayor is easily my 2nd fav Sheridan show, it has all the action and drama I think you'd like.
Didnt really know what to think of Widow's Bay at first but its turning out to be one of the best shows I've seen this year. Love how well they can go from a pretty suspenseful horror scene directly into a bit goofing on the exact tropes they're using.
Anyone else having autoplay issues in D+ on Apple TVs lately?? Feels like it only autoplays the next episode maybe 3 times in a row, and then after that, I just get a static screen with a "Next episode" button. Pressing that button doesn't seem to reset autoplays though and from then-on, I get that screen after every episode
