I remember when I thought $100 was crazy for that. Glad my friend bought way back then and I reap the benefits using his server.
I'm sure they just want to make it so high that nobody will buy it anymore and go for monthly, which they can incrementally raise like every other streaming service. That way they can say they still offer it to avoid pissing off the existing customers who already have lifetime passes.
