I dig it, feels like the album will flow nice. I also wasn't super into the proper dose singles and then that album blew me away
Like this one a lot more than Big Blind, though I dig it's new production. Dude wants to be Liam Gallagher so bad, but well know Noel is the better Gallagher.
Created a new thread for the album - The Story So Far - I Want To Disappear (June 21, 2024) • forum.chorus.fm
The video is literally Wonderwall haha. Parker still going for that Liam Gallagher vibe. Overall I dig the song more than Big Blind but it still seems to be missing the flourishes that made the last album so good. I'll be interested in seeing if there's a song on here as big as Upside Down.
have you never seen them live? they just stand there in place, parker walks around, its uneventful lol the crowd is more fun to watch at their shows
I saw them at a festival in 2019 and it was fun, they sounded great and the crowd was rowdy not sure what more you could want yeah they don’t run around on stage and do anything crazy but they’re right and the energy is fine the crowd more than makes up for it
New songs are good. Letterman brought me back to Big Blind which was initially very unremarkable to me.
I know a dedicated thread for this band might not be the best place to ask, but.... is Proper Dose seen as a big step up for this band by the fanbase? I have honestly never really cared for this band aside from low level enjoyment, to me they kinda epitomize why this era of pop punk doesn't hit as much as the era before it, less diversity, les memorable, less hooky, less specific voices... anyway I am getting away from myself. Just ran through all their albums again and still mostly feel this way about all their albums except Proper Dose, which kinda surprised me as I didn't remember if I previously had liked this album. Feels to me like they finally took chances and expanded their sound. What's the vibe, what do you all think, should I gtfo?
It’s widely accepted as their best record and their breakthrough from a maturity (lol) and cohesiveness perspective, from what i understand.
