It's mostly the incessant ones who get their point across and then go on and on and on.

And yes, I'll happily show my whole ass, that's hilarious.

It’s not even just Parker being in a band with Harry, which in and of itself is horrible. It’s also, for me at least, they way they treated Sam Pura during and after the release of this album (horribly, to put it briefly), which you can read about in this very thread by the man himself. This band are not great people. If you still want to listen, ultimately no one can stop you, but don’t be ignorant about who this band really is.

Band has always been pricks, no argument from me there. Had a dumb run in with Parker just because I walked by him and someone else in the band at the masquerade in like, 2012-2013.

If I don’t listen to or like a band I typically don’t go in the thread of that band. Pretty simple concept.

The thing is I actually used to like them and I’m sure others in here did too. It’s fair to go into a thread and vent your frustrations or remind people about who this band is and who they associate with.

I don’t either but that doesn’t mean everyone has to be exactly like us, it’s an open forum if people wanna pop into band threads to point out horrible things associated with the band members they’re more than welcome to do so. I’m all for blocking people that annoy you, it’s whatever, because as @OhTheWater pointed out their posts aren’t even for people like you but for people out there who may not know what the deal is with these bands and as they’ve said they get responses every single time from people telling them they had no idea

For real? Proper Dose is their only good album basically because of Pura, that sucks I’ll have to go back and see what he said

It’s also pretty simple to understand why someone would post something in this thread about them being friends with abusers and warn people who may not know about it.

    Ya that’s fair

this is probably true in the case of Harry based on what we know but in general I don’t think it’s good to send the message that people can’t get help and be better

Here is everything Sam has to say in this thread all in one spot for anyone who missed it or needs a refresher (sorry it’s all in one quote box idk how to fix it but the comments are separated):

none of that is surprising based on what I know about how labels and managers treat producers and engineers in this scene. huge bummer though because he’s a very very talented guy. can’t imagine hiring someone like him and wanting a quick and cheap option.

Agreed and as the person who didn't know about any of this i'm appreciative of the info. But there's a difference between politely sharing information and deliberatively trying to disrupt the conversation, belittling people who want to continue talking about the music, and/or suggesting people leave the site and go to Reddit.

There's a designated space here to talk about this band's music. If people are upset about that you might want to consider where you're directing that energy. Someone said it really well earlier: it's up to each individual how they separate art from the artist. I don't care if people post a canned statement every time the thread turns a page, but then can we then leave it at that?

You are more than welcome to leave it at that, nobody is forcing anyone to respond to every post @OhTheWater makes

That reads to me like “please make it as easy as possible for me to ignore problematic information about a band I like”. If you don’t like what I post, you can block me

Na I'm not gonna block you I have no problem with you. Like I said, I appreciate the info and what you're doing to a certain extent. You can interpret what i'm saying however you'd like, I'll do the same.

What do we think the song song will sound like? Fast banger or a new direction?

  18. I really have no expectations at this point. I hope it's a progression from Proper Dose and not a "throwback" thing. I didn't like any of their music until Proper Dose haha.

Maybe a mix of self-titled and Proper Dose??

Single might not be indicative of the album. For Proper Dose, I remember they released Let it Go, Upside Down, and Take me as You Please before it dropped (some of the slowest songs on the album).

I hope the single is more in line with keep this up but the album expands on stuff like upside down etc

Very weird marketing for that album cycle haha

We reach for the longest shadow

A single that bridges the gap for all fans makes sense after such a long gap, so I expect something safe and by the numbers, with a curveball for the 2nd single.

It was, but the first listen floored me, especially the first half because it was SO GOOD.

Hindsight, Proper Dose (the song) or Keep This Up would've been a better representation of how the album was going to sound

  25. I don't really know this band at all outside of Proper Dose, but I I think I remember them being a lot more pop punky before? I can't imagine they'll go that oldschool route too much since No Pressure probably scratches that itch, at least for the members that are in that band. So I hope they lean more into the slower stuff and experiment a little more on the next one.
