If spreading awareness is your objective than I'd say it is well achieved. Good luck trying to get people to stop supporting bands with these associations. These things aren't as absolute as you think and how others separate the art from the artist is up to them, not you.
I think this moves past art/artist. They are currently making music and touring. The rapist has an active platform thanks to the lead singer of this band. This is not me shaming people for listening to the Beatles because John Lennon was abusive. Again, listen to whatever you want. But I will continue to be annoying in any thread on this site about the band
In all fairness, the fact that someone spoke up and said they didn’t already know this information does vindicate your annoyance a bit. I legitimately assumed everyone already knew about this, hence my snark. And to be fair to le Redditors, this topic is discussed regularly in the hardcore and pop punk communities over there as well.
Almost every time I post after a long (or relatively short, in this case) period, I will either get a post or a PM from someone telling me that they didn’t know. I am aware how many people know and simply don’t care, I’m mainly doing it for the 1-2 that didn’t before. Annoying the other dorks and derailing the thread is just a bonus.
Yeah I mean don’t get me wrong I’m more in the annoyed dork camp and not a fan of the thread derailing but I’ve also come to accept that this community isn’t tailor made for me which is why I don’t spend a ton of time here.
When ohthewater posts in this thread moving forward I’ll just ignore it now. I’m in the same boat as you.
Thanks for posting this. Really informative. I didn’t know a lot of that. I also didn’t know No Pressure was still a thing, and has buzz. That kinda sucks.
It’s just baffling that all these other artists continue to associate with harry. Like it would be so easy not to. Kick him out of your band. Plenty of better drummers out there. We have up and coming, good bands like fleshwater and koyo playing shows with his creeper ass. Why.
I do like them, but in small bursts. The vocals grate on me over the course of an album. I think they’ll click with me someday though.
It's the same conversation over and over. @OhTheWater is welcome to post in here as much as anyone else. As of right now, there's no reason to lock the thread.
Yeah I'd just like to add I have no issue whatsoever with @OhTheWater informing people about anything.
This thread isn’t some echo chamber where fans get to talk about the band without people bringing up the very troubling associations members of this band have with abusers. If you don’t like it then ignore it or don’t post in the thread. It’s not that hard.
very excited about this, Proper Dose was probably the last album from this genre that i've genuinely enjoyed. Very curious about the direction they're going in considering the sound of No Pressure. Would also be very surprised if we actually get the album this year though.
it's worth mentioning, especially since I'm pretty sure they don't have a permanent drummer anymore. I do still listen to tssf but not no pressure. I really don't understand why harry is so special that everyone thinks it's safe for him to have a platform again. you don't grow out of being an abuser
I think only one person has mentioned anything about him having the platform and they created an account yesterday. The rest of us are just stoked on new TSSF music.
I always get a little sad when songs come on Spotify and I think it's new TSSF but it's really No Pressure
The block feature works wonders on this site. Tons of missing posts in this thread for me. Bring on new TSSF.
Imagine bragging about blocking people who bring up associations this band has with a known abuser. People are really showing their whole ass in this thread.
