I don’t really hear Tom but the drums on “Let It Go” hardcoreeee reminded me of Travis’s work on the untitled Blink-182 record.
Perfect response. Like stylistically Proper Dose and TGG might not sound that similar (as TWY and TSSF live on other ends of the "pop-punk" spectrum), but the jump in quality and maturity are the same. Proper Dose raises the bar for TSSF just as much as TGG did for TWY back in 2013.
Thanks for the suggestions! I'll check them out. I'll be honest I've never been a huge The Wonder Years fan which is blasphemy round Chorus but I'll check out the album and report back.
It’s understandable. Also considering their questionable past I wouldn’t be 100% ok giving them the platform either. I admittededly love this band though.
Exactly how I feel. It took me some time to actually like the band too because I grew up in the same town in the same time as them and would hear stories of douchebaggery (that's not a word orrrrr is it?) but about two years ago it all clicked and now I love it. This record is easily my favorite of theirs too.
I think there was a movement to cover all of the Pure Noise and PN adjacent bands less by the site, after JJR and other dramas took place. To which, yeah go off.
Great set list Proper Dose Things I Can’t Change Out Of It Keep This Up Roam Heavy Gloom If I Fall All Wrong The Glass Let It Go Upside Down Take Me As You Please Nerve Empty Space Clairvoyent Quicksand
Noise Creators put out an episode today with Sam Pura discussing the recording process behind the record. Haven’t listened to it yet but that show is really fun if you’re a gearhead
