These rankings are whack, the album has been out for -7 days lol. Also holy shit at the majority of people here liking a Real Friends and a TSSF album in 2018. Never thought I’d see the day.
Fantastic alum. The latter two singles don't really represent the overall sound well, it's not nearly as mellow as those two.
Honestly, I’m surprised at myself for enjoying the released tracks. I for some reason always think I hate TSSF but always listen and always walk away liking it. The progression of the tracks will definitely be a huge factor for this new album. Excited to listen! Real Friends....nah.
Honestly I haven’t listened to Real Friends since that album with the song about only his dog being his only friend (Late Nights In My Car?) I’m sure they have completely grown since then and improved vastly, but I just never went back into it. Maybe I shall check it out???
This record is incredible, even the straight up pop punk jams are so much better than the vast majority of their other stuff. New Out of It sounds incredible. Parker learned that harmonies sound good.
This is phenomenal. I’ve liked all their records to some extent but this blows the rest of them away, and is the first where they don’t sound like they’re on autopilot.
This has been an amazing year for pop punk bands putting out the type of releases I didn’t know they could - State Champs, Real Friends, and now TSSF.
Just checked yours out and ours are pretty different haha. I’d say firmly PD > WYDS > S/T > USAD with quite a bit of space between each album
I’ve been listening to usad and wyds for 6-7 years, but this is easily the most mature TSSF album, and the record they had to make to keep me interested.
I agree that they needed to make a change in order to keep me interested, So I definitely welcome this album. However, this doesn’t immediately jump out at me like USAD and WYDS did when I first heard those. That will probably change with more listens. Gotta give it some time.
The bass groove reminds me of a pop hook from something on the radio, let me see if I can figure it out. EDIT: We Ain’t Ever Getting Older
Parker has this photo on his Instagram story currently. Showing/talking about his substance abuse. https://m.imgur.com/a/MBFaph9
Lyrically how is this? I may get around to it today but I forgot the We Were Promised Jetpacks album is out so now I’m doing that today.
