Kind of want to wait until release, but I also thought the new Thrice would tide me over. I don't really like that one, so I might download this, haha.
Wow- I am REALLY liking this record. Really happy I dropped $$$ on the limited edition book vinyl package now.
Eric Valentine was also involved at least with the mixing but I think he might have produced too. For some reason I thought Sam Pura just did pre-production with the band.
Looks like Eric Valentine did the mixing, according to this article. Don't know if he was involved in other aspects though. And this article that says Sam Pura was producer/engineer.
After one listen this is pretty easily their best album, yeah. Way more dynamic than anything they've done before, not just from song to song but even within songs (Need to Know is really cool in this regard). Upside Down is still the best song they've made, the title track bangs, Line is gorgeous. Genuinely had no idea they had a record this good inside of them
Yeah I’m pretty happy with this. Upside Down is still the best song here but even some of the more “typical” TSSF songs bring new stuff to the table. Still don’t think Parker’s got a real good hook in him but I’m pretty past anticipating it at this point
Not sure who that is. I was just going by what I've seen in a few articles. Haven't looked into it too closely.
I knew I was forgetting something. Yes they went to Canada during 2017 for the first half of the recording sessions and worked with him. Canadian producer, worked on Rise Against, Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nickelback, Sick Of It All, Atreyu, You Me At Six, and a whole bunch of other rock albums.
Sam Pura interviewed him on his podcast last year while the band was in studio with him working on some of the songs for the record. Not sure how it's going to be all credited but yeah.
Also it might be a little too early but: Proper Dose >> What You Don't See > S/T >> Under Soil and Dirt
