Yeah not keen on the review but it's interesting that they don't think it's entirely a huge change, and that maybe this is a bridge album. I would be down for that.
seems like there is only one more real curveball, and the rest is going to be close to Let it Go and Out of It.
That’s why I was excited (not the actual review itself). I love Let It Go and Out of It. I was thinking songs like those would be few and far between.
Keep This Up is a banger. Fun song. New version of Out Of It isn't that much different. Just a little crisper mix.
Take Me As You Please is a pretty cool softer song for them. Let It Go is awesome. Love the drums in the chorus. The mix sounds awesome to my ears on everything so far.
How does the album sound as a whole? Varied, like their old stuff, or like the songs released so far?
Upside Down is one of my favorite songs I've heard this year. Parker's flow on the verses is so good.
Upside Down reminds me a ton of Turnover. Pretty chill song. Kinda has the vibe of Phantom off their last album, but more upbeat.
I'm just over half way through on my first listen and I'd say it's more varied then their previous efforts. There's hints of their old stuff but also a fair amount of new things. From first listen, seems like Parker is singing rather than yelling more. So far each song seems to have a fairly distinct sound from song to song.
Need To Know starts off sounding a lot like the stuff from self titled but the chorus is not what I was expecting.
Yeah, Turnover is one of my favorite bands, so my previous post makes a lot of sense when I think about that, haha.
Line is another Phantom type song but again, more upbeat. Cool vibe. Mostly an instrumental interlude. Leads nicely into Growing On You. A slow, catchy ballad, with Parker letting out some falsetto in the chorus. Very nice song.
Your descriptions sound great so far, I am pretty excited. Anything compared to Phantom is getting me PUMPED.
The closing track Light Year is pretty standard TSSF sound but done well. Some cool rhythms and drums. Very solid close to the album. How did I get here?/Feels like a light year
I'm not always the best at describing songs so hopefully my thoughts are fairly accurate haha. If you like all the singles or even some of them, you'll find more on this album that you like. I think overall it has a nice mix of their standard TSSF song with some new things.
Digging the production and energy of this album so far. 8 tracks in and I can say I'm digging this more than their previous efforts because its so diverse. Who produced this album?
Sam Pura After listening to this album once and then flipping through a few of their old songs, the production on this sounds so much fuller than old stuff.
