That song is... actually pretty fuckin good

 

Yeah hopefully Let It Go is the most TSSF-like song on the album and the rest is more of a departure like this. Well, I know Out of It is on there too, so maybe the rest other than those, haha.

 

Out of It feels like a bridge from typical TSSF to something new, I really like the song though

 

Yeah, I like it better than most of self titled.

 

Definitely, it’s actually one of my favorite TSSF songs at this point tbh. I wonder how different the album version is

 

probably just different production, maybe rerecorded vocals to fit in with the rest of the songs.

 

He could just as easily speed it up and it would sound like a normal tssf. The tempo is different but it’s same writing and rhythm.

 

Not even close...did you try the speed up feature on YT to try out your theory? song actually sounds pretty cool at 1.25x speed tho

Haha I tried it and instrumentally its super different! His melodies are kinda similar I guess? but there's gotta be something that keeps the band similarities alive lol

 

The instrumentation and vocal style is completely different lol wtf

Self titled is so underrated. There was definitely a stylistic shift to a moodier, spacier form of their music and serves as a great bridge between WYDS and this album.

 

Yeah I think this album will make people revisit s/t and appreciate it more. I think there was some good songwriting on there

Well fuck me... Upside Down actually rules. Have rarely even been that into these guys, but I guess the new album might change that! The other two singles are solid too, but more safe.

 

This song has more of a kick to it than the previous singles.

also they're 3/3 so far on staying away from the usual misogynistic lyrics, so... that's nice?

 

there are probably a dozen other bands in the scene at that shit in 2018 unfortunately. it's like fighting a fucking hydra.

I don't care to go back and read this whole thread, but its been posted that the tour is supposed to be TSSF/Citizen/Turnover/movements, right?
