The Story So Far Begin Working on New Album

Last one was kind of a bust outside of 4-5 songs. I'd say it's probably time for them to evolve a little bit, both musically and with their lyrics.

 

Feels like it's been forever following the last dud. They dropped the ball.

 

I liked the last one, but they do need to shake things up.

 

I don't even have the last album on my iPhone. Really hope they turn it around for this one

 

I feel like they've been fairly consistent so far. S/T wasn't mind blowing or anything but I didn't find much to complain about with it other than the lack of progression in their sound. I still had fun listening. I think they need a slight shift in sound and hard shift lyrically. Lets get some more mature themes in there.

 

I thought the last one was the best, but I agree with you all that the next one needs a lyrical progression...

 

Would you say they need to maybe...drop(kick) their old habits and start fresh?

 

:Loved their first and second records, the first one is a pop punk classic, but LP3 was very same-y.

 

Is this band still popular? I saw them on the headliner for the self titled but I haven't heard much about them since. The co-headliner they did with Man Overboard is still one of the most fun shows I've been to.

Yeah they aren't gonna change their sound at all. They are STILL working with the same producer.

 

I really dig S/T. It has some of my favorite songs of theirs (Heavy Gloom, Distaste, Nerve, and Mock) but it also has a few songs that are pretty meh. Overall, I don't think dropped the ball but they can do better on LP4.

 

More "Phantom", less everything else

 

Time to evolve. I don't think I can buy a 4th album with nearly identical song structure/sound.

Yet you've said they have the potential to be as big as ADTR? Which album sucked so bad to make you think that? Lol

 

Just because you don't like the music doesn't mean you can't understand why other people like it

 

Popular music can suck. The Chainsmokers are huge right now
