I was gonna post a photo though. Haha I’ll post it later. My phone is on 5%. I took a shit ton of videos as my brain exploded with joy.
Okay, back in the car with a charger haha Island Up & Go Surprise, Surprise 21 Left Coast Envy Greg’s Last Day Almost There, Going Nowhere Are You Alone Making Love To The Camera Luck Decisions, Decisions Cheek To Cheek Direction Inspired By The $ Hello Houston Leaving Best Of Me they played like an hour and 5 minutes or so.
Oh shit. I forgot the best part. At one point someone called out asking new music. Kenny said something like, “new music? We can do that. We’re in that realm.”
!!! ;D though I had hoped to see something new on that setlist ;u but still, at least that's some good news! And the setlist looks really solid too, glad you had so much fun!
I know, right? I figured maybe 9. To get 17 and not even be headlining… damn. I was not prepared haha
oh, I forgot for a second it's not their headlining tour, you mentioned Andrew and I didn't connect the dots, though I've seen posters for these shows on Andrew's insta. I'd really enjoy catching that line up for sure ;o
Seeing the Starting Line and then hearing songs like I Woke Up In A Car and If You C Jordan was just so good for my soul haha
So good! I saw Andrew solo this month, flew over to UK for that - I did cry a bit hahah! Would love to see that full band line up, TSL is a bucketlist band too, but I doubt they'll tour in Europe anytime soon. Sooo the news about any new music from them keeps me excited!
Finally had time to finish uploading my videos. Below is Almost There, Going Nowhere. And because I lost my mind at all the song we were getting, I just kept recording a lot. So you can also find Island, Up & Go, Surprise Surprise, Left Coast Envy, Greg’s Last Day, Decisions Decisions, Cheek To Cheek, Direction, Inspired by the $, and Hello Houston on my channel. I think being on the barricade and being able to just rest my arm on it and keep the screen to the side made me keep going haha
The show in Atlanta on Saturday was transcendent. As the above posters mentioned, they played WAY longer than I expected and it was such a great show. Would have loved more songs from the later records, and for the guitars to have been just a little louder, but they delivered on every damn song. I haven't seen them live since the OG farewell tour and it was such an amazing feeling to hear those songs live again and for them to sound just as good as they did back then. I totally respect the decision if they don't want to put out new music, but I really hope they continue to play short runs here and there (as long as they are near me )
Not sure if you’ve seen AAR, but I’ve never been a fan of them. Know some of the hits because radio. Saw them at When We Were Young fest because they were on the Manchester, Thursday, etc stage in the evening. They were easily a highlight of the day. Such a fun, amazing sounding set.
So cool hearing that alternate chorus. Definitely sounds like "filler" or a placeholder like he described, but it's still so neat hearing unreleased content from them. That chorus would have made it sound a lot more like BOATS or even the rest of Direction. This podcast is so great. Listening to bands talk about songwriting is my absolute favorite. Edit: Also completely forgot that they completely replaced the drums without telling the band
