From the quarantine live stream of BOATS: "In this record in general there are some questionable lyrics, and I know this one has been lighting up the message boards all across the world. I just want to let you know there's nothing untoward or salacious about this song. It's about me losing my virginity so everyone can just cool their jets. **While laughing** And also I'm sorry about the lyrics, I'll do better next time"
"next time." New TSL confirmed. But goddamn if they aren't in my top 3 favorite pop punk bands. Maybe #1. I listened to say it like you mean it while mowing our lawn every saturday in my portable cd player. Would make it a game to finish before Drama Summer.
I would love for them to either put out new music or play some shows more often. They were so insanely tight during those live streams and sounded better than ever so it's almost a crime that they aren't more active.
Can't believe it's been that long since the Anyways EP. I am still so thrilled with the studio recording of Luck. I absolutely fell in love with the live version, and was so happy to hear that they didn't stray from it. Probably a top 5 all time favorite TSL song.
Does anyone have the videos of the full album livestreams saved? I would love to be able to watch them again
Now that I'm bailing on When We Were Young, missing The Starting Line is the only thing that's making me regret the decision. Give us some north east shows! Better yet, turn that one off show with Armor for Sleep into a full on tour!
I was in college when it came out and was so bummed when i learned it was just an accoustic EP. Then I listened to it........and then listened to it a few hundred times after that.....
Ken Vasoli (The Starting Line) throwback in case you haven't listened to this episode. Doesn't actually start until like the 16min mark. Did Spotify recently do something with ads where they're able to retroactively place ads in old episodes?
I think I was in like...8th grade? It was back in the days where I still had to bring a gigantic book of CDs to school. haha. This girl I went to high school with ended up borrowing my book of CDs and then held it hostage for months, and this was one of the handfuls of CDs that were missing when I eventually got it back. Needless to say, it was a necessary re-buy. If for no other reason than to watch the bonus features on the enhanced portion and hear "Classic Jazz".
That reminded me of this (pretty irrelevant) story from summer 2002 - I was on a church trip, sitting alone on the bus because I didn’t have any friends there, when this girl walking down the aisle was like “what are you listening to” and I told her The Starting Line. She came back a minute later with a burned copy of Second Stage Turbine Blade and was all “you might like this” lol. Not exactly the best RIYL but she was right, I dug it. After the week was over we sat together on the bus ride home and listened to each other’s CDs, barely even talking
Not quite - still waiting to randomly bump into her at a coffee shop after all these years before falling in love over the course of a few months and then eventually chasing after her through a city or an airport terminal. We’ll get there eventually though!!
Fairly certain it’s pretty standard for podcasts to have a program that operates the ads. Like it gives you ads based on location and such even. If you stream it the program automatically inserts ads into designated breaks or at certain times if one isn’t designated. I don’t see why it couldn’t change up the ads over time.
