I remember him saying a looong time ago that “I Could Be Wrong” was his least favorite on the record which really bummed me out. Haha. I always felt like that song was really underrated and the bridge is one of the catchiest parts of the record.
Also how are we just glossing over Kenny saying he still has aspirations to make more music with this band. They’ve done so much since their “hiatus” that I’ll be ok with whatever avenue they decide to release new music.
Watching this performance was almost bittersweet. On one hand, I'm glad they can still get some fun and enjoyment out of this band by returning to it whenever they feel like, but at the same time....the fact that they can nail Direction in full while sounding better than ever (and that their last EP was so good) makes it super disappointing that they aren't more active. Like, I want them to do whatever they want, but as a fan, I have no doubt that they wouldn't just continue to add positively to their legacy if they were to pick things up.
I absolutely love the Anyways EP. Each track is beautiful and honestly pretty top shelf if you ask me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That EP is solid. Been doing a full discography listen last night and this morning. It still boggles my mind that Island didn't become a huge hit.
Luck is such a phenomenal song. Watching last night, it certainly felt like they were hinting at more activity from the band? I feel like they have been very quick to close the door on the idea of new music, but the whole part from Kenny about how he feels like they still haven't reached their potential was super exciting. Imagine a new record in 2021?!?!?
Because sadly he's been saying that for years and we haven't gotten anything from them since Anyways. I've seen them like four times since then and he's said it at every show. I still have the flame of hope burning deep down but it's dimming with the passage of every year lol
Would love new music in 2021, I just beg, and plead, that it not be recorded with Will Yip. I can't handle that monkey paw situation.
Yeahhhhhhhhh Yip seems like such a cool genuine dude, but I'm just not a fan of his muddy production style
