I just read yesterday that a studio drummer played on some Direction songs? Not sure why that is but I’ve always been impressed by the drumming on their records and Tom holds it down in all the videos I’ve seen from the last decade
Yeah he wasn’t ever that bad, just unable to hold a tempo to save his life haha. This performance he’s really showing off some new chops though, playing a lot of little intricacies that aren’t even on the record
Alright I was saying a couple weeks ago that even though I love Direction it’s not up there with BOATS (or even the debut) but this has convinced me: all the albums are 10/10s and I love Direction equally as much as the others. This band has the perfect trilogy of albums
This was amazing. It made me emotional to hear Kenny say that “Birds” and “Way With Words” were his favorite songs off the album because they have been mine for as long as I can remember.
Way With Words, What You Want, and Are You Alone are my tops Very very excited for BOATS. That probably had the highest amount of songs I’ve never seen live, at least not that I recall
Yeah outside the staples from BOATS, there’s a ton of songs i’ve never heard live. I think I was at the live premiere of The World in NYC back in the day though.
Damn I totally forgot that Directions was tonight! Does anyone know if it'll be available through the weekend? I might purchase it for a Saturday night viewing. Was the setlist just Directions or did they through in extra songs? Also I'm very tempted to buy one of those vinyls.
Holy fuck, you guys weren’t kidding. They are so incredibly tight, especially for a band that is basically inactive. This is so awesome. Direction lends itself to the live show, but I’m really curious how they’ll pull of a big chunk of BOATS and also how they’ll incorporate Brian in the last set.
