NYC show on December 17th at Irving Plaza!! Let's gooooo. I'm so happy they're coming back to NYC. I always hated the Starland shows since they're a pain in the ass to get to
I always go back to this band but for some reason I always forget how fantastic their acoustic EP is. Some of those songs were sooo good and just sound so different than what they usually do. I think it's held its value for me because bands typically just redo their existing songs on acoustic guitars instead of writing a full EP of new songs in a different style.
Really wish there was a good version of full band Lasting Impressions, or at least a non youtube-level rip of the demo.
Speaking of that, does anyone remember a live rip ever existing of when they played one of those other songs as a full band? I think "Playing Favorites" but it might have been "Selective". Like a lot of other things with this band, I can remember listening to it (and preferring the acoustic version) but it got lost in obscurity. It's kind of sad to look back on how much cool stuff got lost from those days because it was almost all on Purevolume and Myspace. haha.
At the BOATS release party at Vintage Vinyl, Ken says they played Bedroom Talk on TV the night before. Do you know what show they played on?
Aren't they on that Warped Tour Rewind cruise or whatever? Is that happening now or is that next month?
Nah, that was "Surprise, Surprise" played in standard tuning. I remember that much. Haha. This was audio only and I remember it was on either Purevolume or MySpace. It was done just like "Lasting Impressions".
I remember the Surprise Surprise demo having completely different lyrics. Something about holding an Olympic torch.
