It is touching, and I'm already sure it's going to be such a great collection of music, this short new songs really hits me. Love for all the band members here!
Got a sneak peak at this record. Pretty cool project. Definitely listens like a demo but, like any of Ken’s demos I’ve heard, they’re complete tunes and any roughness is a strength. I have two fav tracks and Ken does Vinnie C. IATA growls in both. Can’t wait to listen more.
You mean more like a demo for some of the other tunes? Because this one sounds like a fully realized thing (just a raw choice for the tone and all, but I admit it's for its strength actually)
It's an interesting note that they mentioned on Instagram that the band has a new drummer now, Chris Wilson (Hammered Hulls, Ted Leo and The Pharmacists, Titus Andronicus), so that leads me to believe future music or tour
it's a fully realized song. but it's not just raw, it likely wasn't done in a full studio or recorded properly in a way for it to see the light of day the way it is. that being said, it's still cool. i like the song a lot.
from the PR, linked above: Originally intended as a demo, Permanence took on new meaning after DeBlois’ passing. The band chose to leave the recordings untouched, preserving their immediacy and spirit and transforming them into a powerful document of friendship, collaboration, and loss. The album’s rawness is not just aesthetic, but emotional: a snapshot of a band discovering itself in real time, and a tribute to a drummer whose impact ran deep.
This album is a perfect spring vibe for me today. Weather is finally decent here in Western NY and this album is right in my Q zone.
Kenny Vasoli (The Starting Line) Kenny on a UK based pop punk podcast "Wasting Time." Released today.
Was a little boring hearing him discuss the bands history again rather than the current output, but always enjoy hearing Ken talking about music. Nice to hear brief mentions of Over It and Rufio.
