Great interview with Kenny. This band has really been in their own lane when it comes to this genre. His whole mindset shift about the band, and music for that matter, is inspirational in itself. The fact he had to be told “no, dude….release a new full length. People still care and more people will hear it” says a lot about what him and the band went through 18+ years ago. He’s learned a lot over the years. Let’s not forget…he was 23 years old when Direction came out. (What the actual fuck!) I’m 39 and don’t think I could ever come close to releasing something like that album even today. Which leads me to my next point….Eternal Youth….its this bands best album. As it should be. It covers the entire ground this band has ever touched, yet breathes new air in the most refreshing way ever. I’m a huge Direction fan, but I haven’t been able to stop listening to this new album since it came out.
The video for curveball has broken through 1m views! That's outrageously good! circulate on 187k Sense of humour 66k
Always fascinated when that happens…what makes curveball different than the other two? Was it part of a promotional push, or catch on a trend or something? That’s a short amt of time too
It's up there with the best 3 songs on the album, and probably my favorite one on any given day, so that's awesome to hear it's getting that kind of traction.
I hate to be a downer, but the 1M video views is most likely because they did a brief ad campaign for it so the full music video was playing as an ad before other videos. Makes sense when you see that with a million views it only has 60 comments and 760 likes. Regardless, still a top 3 song on the album.
The acoustic versions of these songs have changed my initial perspective on this record which was meh and now I can't get enough of both the acoustic versions and the studio record. Great songs are great songs.
Didn’t they just shoot all these during the Mexico trip forever ago? Seems like that’s how they got this album even done with everyone having “regular” jobs. They did a batch of stuff and then have been running it.
