Benchmark is definitely the optimal running song, chorus got me crying and sprinting like I’m being chased by a ghoul

 

Humility has been my biggest earworm. DIE EGO DIE

 

I love the whole album. So much so that when I get in the car and have an opportunity to listen to it, I get super disappointed when my destination occurs before I get a chance to get a full spin in. I have, no joke, found errands to run just so I can listen to it. I have awesome wireless headphones, but nothing beats my car’s speakers for experiencing it fully. I feel a little bad because I LOVED the new Motion City record but I have kind of left it a bit since Eternal Youth dropped.

 

Really curious which songs will be added to the set for the Seattle show in a few weeks. It’ll be the first Eternal Youth date since the record came out. I figure the first four songs are locks? Probably Granted too since they were already playing that one acoustically, but I’m lowkey hoping they leave it out hah. It’s the only song here that I don’t really care for

 

Interesting! Any particular reason you don’t care for that one?

 

Granted is the one I always skip tbh lol

 

I like granted a lot. Feels like a classic tsl song

 

Finally had a full run through of this a couple of times this morning. Was sidetracked by my continuing enjoyment of the MCS album.

So impressed with this. It does sound like a band fully making the music that they want to make (as Kenny is clear about in his interviews) but by no means is it pretentious or self-serving.

It's not instantly memorable for me and yes somewhat one dimensional but truly that's actually bringing me back to this. The differences and earworms are starting to develop slowly which is a different experience.

Very happy with this. Hopefully they'll come to the UK.

 

Album is really hitting as the weather is (finally) cooling

 

Just kinda drags for me! Really plodding, repetitive rhythm and very paint by numbers melodically. No hook. Harms the flow of the record imo, don’t feel the gel of the band present like on the rest of the album. Like a song somebody would write if they were trying to sound like TSL but didn’t have the juice

 

This album is so damn good, I'm already looking forward to shows where they play more songs from it.

 

I wish they’d stop anywhere near me

 

Finally had a chance to spin this and Humility into Benchmark is nutty.

 

Vinyl arrived today! Worth the wait. Lyric book and album jacket are top notch.
