Sitting with this thing for 24 hours now, I can confidently say this thing hits. I was a bit tepid with it after the first listen but it gets better and better each listen.

Only part I am not loving is the Defeating the Purpose part. Liking the Pivot, tho.

I don’t have any problems with the production either

Only issue is the vocals get a little muddled at times. Otherwise I'm cool with it. Definitely prefer it over something too clean and polished

Can someone help me figure out what song the riff melody in I See How It Is sounds like?

Glad I see other people commenting on the production. I had a hell of a time understanding most of what Kenny was singing. I’m loving everything else so far though.

Love the way this thing sounds. I would’ve been fine never listening to this band again but surprised how much I dig these songs.

Yeahhhh that’s my only issue with this record. I had to read lyrics to understand what he was saying half of the time. Between that and him singing in a deeper (lower?) voice - the vocals is not where it should be at IMO

Still love the record though! It’s been this and Dying Wish on repeat this weekend.

It’s going to come off that way if you only know this band through “The Best of Me”

I have never really listened to TSL, but I really like this album. It's just a no frills, quality rock album. Seems like those are becoming more of a rarity these days.

First day listening to the album, it was feeling a bit one-note to me. Had a hard time getting into it. but now, 3 listens in, Im starting to really dig it and the hooks are starting to get into my brain. I dont mind the production outside of his vocals are a bit low and its hard to understand the lyrics.

and I generally prefer guitars that are a little crunchy, and these guitars are much more fuzzy.

but yea, I wouldnt say its a "rough" sounding record, but its not super polished either.

Album kicks ass. Blame might be one of my favorite songs they’ve ever done.

Comments on the production make me feel young again. As in, when I was a kid and excitedly had my parents listen to music I was into, their response was typically, “I like the music, but can’t understand what the guy is saying!”

I’ve always been a pretty casual TSL fan, but I think this is their best album. It’s exactly what a more mature version of a pop punk scene band sound like.

    Not newbie, I think

Love it. Super happy with it. Do I wish they pulled a song or two back to the early sounds, cleaner vocals now and then for nostalgia sake? Sure. But it's a solid 9 from me.

I can't imagine it being their "best" or "magnus opus" but hey they're one of my favorite bands so if someone's going there with it and they love it then that's great.

I think Direction will always be my favorite from them but this album continues to grow on me more and more with every listen so I could see this outranking BOATS and SILYMI for me in time.

This album absolutely rips, every listen I love it a little bit more.

The punchiness of the vocals on songs like Circulate and Curveball is top tier stuff

Any explanation of the significance of the building they shot for the cover or the music videos?

I loved the first two albums but was never able to get into direction for whatever reason. I took a hard pivot into the indie boom then so maybe why, but beyond like 3 songs on it it just fell flat. That said, I’m shocked at how much I’m fuckin with this new one. Also I tend to like the yip production but I don’t even notice it here.

This is awesome! I really enjoyed the Person L era, so to hear some of that similar sound is great. Album plays to Kenny’s vocal strengths perfectly. Thankful they did a full length.

Production has a bit of floral green feeling sonically which I’m sure is not by accident because Kenny loves title fight

I really enjoyed the first listen, but it felt like the record kind of blended together for me.

However, I have been playing this thing non stop. It has completely worked its way into my brain. Can’t remember the last time I listened to a record so much right when it came out. It gets better every listen. Might be my AOTY. I love this band’s discography.

Can confirm this album passes the long run test, even if it only took me through 4 out of 18 miles. But those miles (8-12) were crucial.
