Album is fantastic. So glad to have them back.

 

Title track is a lot of fun

 

Wild to think it has been over 18 years.

 

Wow. Kenny is FEELING it on this album.

I love the raw vibes on this album and it’s great to see diverse shoutouts to songs. So much to digest and revisit but that first listen was so pleasing. You can totally hear all their influences on this record too.

I can’t believe this is here.

The Staring Line, Motion City Soundtrack, Yellowcard….

There needs to a be a ‘comeback tour’.

 

Album is awesome. Enjoyment is the one.

 

Some of these songs are very Person L coded. Especially the last minute or so of Defeating The Purpose + Pivot. And they continue the theme of pushing their sound forward while not abandoning who they are at their core with every record. Undefeated in that arena. Eternally grateful this band exists.

 

This thought process could be the product of a 4:30am listening session and lack of sleep....but especially with this record and the overall energy and vibe of Kenny and the boys - I can't help but feel like they would be a great supporting slot on a Turnstile tour?

 

The only album I've heard from this band before is SILYMI. This is different from that

Enjoyment gonna be on constant rotation.

 

Working on the review currently of Eternal Youth, and when I re-read my interview with Kenny back in October 2022, he name-dropped the name of the record! "I do know that we’re a pop punk band. And it’s a genre that sort of represents nostalgia and eternal youth, which I’m totally able to appreciate." This album is so good. So hyped to have a new album from them in 2025. I'm so happy.

 

I can't get over how good the literal pivot in time signature and overall vibe is in Defeating The Purpose + Pivot. Holy fuck it is so good.

 

I also would love to see them get a Tiny Desk concert. Imagine these new tunes with a little vacationer type of vibe mixed in? They would crush it.

 

I know right. Is it 2025 or 2005? Wild.

 

First four songs are an amazing stretch. banger after banger.

 

Holy shit this is so good.

Also so happy to see The Starting Line made it onto Spotify's New Music Friday playlist. And in the top half!

 

Haha it's like TSL and then a million artists I've never heard of nor care about.

 

Track 5 and 9 are duds. Rest of it is quite good. Need to give it the proper car test.

 

Enitre album feels like Person L with a splash of TSL but not necessarily a bad thing.

I have to come back and say this sounds sooo much better on my nice headphones compared to my car speakers. Either way, I'm on like listen 4 of the record already this morning.

THIS BAND DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO MISS. 4 for 4.

Enjoyment is probably my favorite track on the album as well. Unsure how any TSL fan doesn't love that one.

 

It doesnt bring me any....enjoyment lol.
